10 Years of Brasilia
Here’s how the magic works
What started as a single idea, to bring people together around good food, warm hospitality and a sense of belonging – has grown into something far greater than anyone imagined.
From one restaurant to five cities
Since that opening day in October 2015, Brasilia has gone from being a local favorite in Bergen to becoming a national restaurant family – now with five locations across Norway.

Bergen (2015)
The beginning of it all, the birthplace of the Brasilia spirit.
On opening day, none of the grills worked due to a propane connection issue.Instead of turning guests away, we started frying the meat on the kitchen plates, which quickly filled the room with smoke and triggered the alarms. Luckily, a gas technician arrived and fixed the problem shortly after, and from that smoky start, Brasilia was born.

Oslo (2020)
Opened in the middle of the pandemic. Despite uncertainty, our strong partnerships and belief in the concept carried us through. It was, to be honest, a nightmare. Every time one employee tested positive for COVID, half the staff had to quarantine. We opened several times with only four people working – everyone doing everything. But despite it all, our guests were incredibly understanding, and we came out stronger than ever.

Trondheim (2022)
Marked our first true expansion northward, and our growing family of passionate team members.
Just three hours before opening, we finally received the plates, only to discover that two-thirds of them were stuck in customs. We ran around town and bought every white, rectangular plate we could find. The opening turned out to be a huge success – with guests being served on a wonderfully mismatched set of dinnerware in all shapes and sizes.

Bodø (2024)
Not originally on the map, but a perfect match thanks to our collaboration with Hundholmen Byutvikling. The result: a stunning location by the waterfront at Ramsalt, and a community that welcomed us with open arms. Shortly after opening, Brasilia Bodø reached #1 on TripAdvisor, and has since become a beloved part of the local dining scene.

Stavanger (2025)
Our latest and largest restaurant to date – a symbol of everything Brasilia has become.
Built in close collaboration with Wesco, this new space marks a bold step forward and reflects the evolution of Brasilia after ten incredible years.

The people behind the fire
At the heart of Brasilia are the people, our incredible team of over 50 nationalities who bring warmth, passion and authenticity to every guest experience.
For us, Brasilia has never been just about food. It’s about connection. About family. About creating something meaningful together.

More than a restaurant
In Brasilia, food is only the beginning. What truly defines us are the people – those who have been with us since the very first day, and those who have joined along the way. Together, we’ve built something far greater than a restaurant. We’ve built a family.
Over the years, colleagues have become friends, and friends have become family. Some met their partners here, others found lifelong friendships, and all of us share the same fire: a passion for creating memorable experiences that bring people together.
From Bergen to Oslo, Trondheim, Bodø, and now Stavanger, our story is not just about growth – it’s about belonging. About celebrating diversity, shared moments, and the joy of gathering around good food and great company.
And even after ten years, our journey is only just beginning.
